Words of Encouragement

Isaiah 2:2  And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

Revelation 2:26  And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. (Read John 6:29)

For Heaven’s Sake…

Yes. The Bible does say, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).

And yes, the Bible also says this:

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

And yes, that does make sense, intellectually and in detail, that God’s thoughts would be higher than man’s. Then how can these two verses be taken without firm controversy? They seem diametrically opposed. Aren’t they also irreconcilable?

The answer, says Pastor Flemons, is in verses 6 and 7 of Isaiah 55:

“Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”

Now reread Isaiah 55:8-9. You see, “If we’re told to seek him, then we haven’t found him,” says Pastor Flemons. It’s that simple. God is not talking to all of humanity. He is talking to the wicked, to the unrighteous, to the unconverted, says Pastor Flemons. It is a call to repentance.

“We are to enter the school of Christ, to learn from Him meekness and lowliness. Redemption is that process by which the soul is trained for heaven. This training means a knowledge of Christ. It means emancipation from ideas, habits, and practices that have been gained in the school of the prince of darkness. The soul must be delivered from all that is opposed to loyalty to God.” (Ellen G. White, Desire of Ages, p. 330)

“When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.” That is Proverbs 16:7. And yes, even that is a mystery.

For Health’s Sake…

Pastor Flemons recommends ginseng for natural tonic energy. It will not harm the body.

(Although in some instances, a study’s conclusion was reported with less certainty, Pastor Flemons spoke with conclusiveness. With that assurance, the statements are recorded here. The full article is accessible here: http://www.caffeineinformer.com/harmful-effects-of-caffeine.)
