Worship: For Heaven’s Sake The Jewish Church had a lot of precious promises. These precious promises passed on to the Christian Church. Why?Pastor Flemons explained and confirmed it with these two statements.
“The Lord Jesus will always have a chosen people to serve Him. When the Jewish people rejected Christ, the Prince of life, He took from them the kingdom of God and gave it unto the Gentiles. God will continue to work on this principle with every branch of His work. When a church proves unfaithful to the word of the Lord, whatever their position may be, however high and sacred their calling, the Lord can no longer work with them. Others are then chosen to bear important responsibilities. But, if these in turn do not purify their lives from every wrong action, if they do not establish pure and holy principles in all their borders, then the Lord will grievously afflict and humble them and, unless they repent, will remove them from their place and make them a reproach….” {UL 131.3} [The devotional reading for April 27]
“God has a church. It is not the great cathedral, neither is it the national establishment, neither is it the various denominations; it is the people who love God and keep His commandments. ‘Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them’ (Matthew 18:20). Where Christ is even among the humble few, this is Christ’s church, for the presence of the High and Holy One who inhabiteth eternity can alone constitute a church.” {UL 315.5} [The devotional reading for October 28]
This is in harmony with the principle of Protestantism, says Pastor Flemons, who also recommended the reading of Chapter 11, “The Protest of the Princes,” in the book The Great Controversy, by Ellen G. White. Pastor Flemons reminded listeners that there are really only two churches: “the church of the Living God and the synagogue of Satan.” Regardless of your denomination, either you’re part of the one or the other.
[For additional details, please read John 7:1; Mark 3:14; The Upward Look, by Ellen G. White, UL 131, UL 315. Also, listen to the recording to hear the commentary of Pastor Flemons, who sang Hymn 595, “Let Every Lamp Be Burning.”]
Wellness: For Health’s Sake Shelem Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says that cabbage juice is more effective for ulcers and gastritis than conventional treatment. He based his comments on the health.news article: “9 Science-Backed Home Remedies for Ulcers.” But he says that he has been using cabbage juice for healing ulcers and gastritis for thirty years. He has a whole regimen that includes TOR’s Tummy Soother, which has ingredients like goldenseal, myrrh, cayenne, gentian, and other herbs that help heal the stomach.
Because of its high vitamins C and K content, cabbage juice can be used for a wide range of digestive conditions, but especially for ulcers. It kills the H. pylori bacteria that typically causes ulcers, says Pastor Flemons. It also heals the wound. In fact, one study found that one quart of fresh cabbage juice given throughout the day healed ulcers within “7-10 days of treatment.” That is “3.5 to 6 times faster than the average healing time reported in previous studies in those who followed a conventional treatment (9).” More than that, fresh cabbage juice can also prevent ulcers. And doctors knew its power “decades before antibiotics were available to help heal stomach ulcers.”
Foods that need to be avoided include milk, alcohol, coffee and soft drinks, and spicy foods (other than cayenne). They either increase stomach acid, damage the lining of the stomach and digestive tract, and can create feelings of irritation. These foods should be avoided by those who are trying to heal stomach ulcers, as well as those who want to avoid developing them.
