Worship: My Thoughts Are Not Your Thoughts / Wellness: Overcoming PCOS the REFRESHING Way

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  When we fully give ourselves to God, the Holy Spirit helps us become one with God. His thoughts become our thoughts, His ways our ways. It is His desire that our minds reflect the mind of Christ. For in the beginning man was made in the image of God. The goal today is the same: to be remade in the image of God. That is what sanctification is all about: becoming like Christ. When your thoughts are not like His, you are not His. Even so, He invites you to come to Him. He promises mercy and pardon.

[For additional details, please read Isaiah 55:6-9 and Philippians 2:5. Also, please listen to the recording and join Pastor Flemons in singing Hymn 311, “I Would Be Like Jesus.”]

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Are you obese, infertile, exhibit diabetic symptoms, have sudden irregular and/or heavier periods? Do you have ovarian cysts? Do you breakout with acne or other skin issues, suffer hair loss, or hair growth in unusual places? Do you experience breast tenderness and changes in mood or libido, even have suicidal tendency and eating disorders, depression or anxiety? If you experience some of these symptoms, get tested for PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). PCOS is a condition common in women with a hormonal imbalance in which the ovaries produce more male sex hormones than normal. An estimated eighty percent of PCOS patients are obese. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness, says you can overcome it with a 10-day juice feast on greens, daily exercise and sufficient water, and herbs that balance the hormones. It requires a permanent lifestyle change, including a total plant-based diet. We call it the REFRESHING Way. (For additional details, please listen to the recording and read the health.news article on which the talk was based.)

Words of Encouragement

Psalm 95:1-3   O come, let us sing unto the LORD: Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

Psalm 95:4-6  In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: Let us kneel before the LORD our maker. (Also read PK 48.)

Worship: What Defiles You? / Wellness: CFS, A Kind of Hybernation?

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  “The issue is the heart,” says Pastor Flemons. Out of the heart flows evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sex between unmarried partners, thefts, false witness, and blasphemies. These are the things that are defiling you, according to Matthew 15:19 and 20. (Read more below.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Trending health issues today were pulled from www.sciencedaily.com. Pastor Flemons, a doctor of biblical wellness and naturopathy, chose three issues and discussed them. (Read more below.)

QT/QT  A question about apple cider vinegar led to Pastor Flemons sharing this information: Although apple cider vinegar has some health benefits, like lowering the blood sugar, it also hinders the digestion of starches. TOR prefers to use herbs and foods that help and heal without negative side effects. Vinegar is only used topically or externally, rather than internally, except in cases of an emergency.

Matthew 17, Faith and Overcoming Cravings and Strongholds

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Matthew 16:15-19 and 18:18 are misused to cause people to believe they have been given power to forgive sin, which is blasphemy according to Mark 2:7, and to lay claim that the church was built upon Peter, the apostle, rather than upon the Rock, Christ Jesus. Matthew 17 reveals the powerlessness of the disciples without obedience, prayer and fasting. Matthew 18 shows a process to follow and have His power for binding and loosing on earth and in heaven. (Read 2 Corinthians 10:3-5.)

Wellness: For Heaven’s Sake  Cravings, which may be the harrassment of satanic forces, can be overcome by obedience to God’s lifestyle of eating healthy; getting fresh air, proper rest, and adequate exercise; exercising self-control; drinking sufficient water daily; getting adequate sunlight; never giving up (praying more); and giving to others as you are able. These are beneficial for overcoming unhealthy tendencies. (Read Mark 9:23.)

Q&A Listeners gave reports of healing and methods used for dealing with a sty and an allergy.

Dairy and Allergies / The Little Horn

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Continuing with the study of Daniel 7, Pastor Flemons noted a principle within the prophecies. In Catholicism, tradition trumps the Bible. For Protestants, the Bible trumps tradition. He also identified the little horn as papal Rome, which according to prophecy and history, defeated three tribes into extinction: the Heruli, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths.

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Diary products, particularly cow’s milk, play a major role in the development of allergies, asthma, sleep disorders, migraine headaches, mucous production, hemoglobin loss, childhood diabetes, heart disease, atherosclerosis, arthritis, kidney stones, mood swings, depression and irritability. Cow’s milk is for calves.

Depression and Exercise / A Double Mind

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Overcoming depression, Pastor Flemons says, includes exercise. Exercise rids the brain of toxins. It helps with digestion and with regulating blood sugar. It increases oxygen to the brain and helps with improving one’s mental outlook.

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Using James 1:8 as the key text, Pastor Flemons spoke on double-mindedness. “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” Such a person does not have peace of mind until he surrenders to Christ. We must be wholly Christ’s, His alone. If we are partially His, we are lukewarm according to Rev 3:16. God would rather we be hot or cold, never lukewarm. Neither does God want us to be His in letter only; for the letter kills (2 Cor 3:6). He wants us to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23, 24). All true worshippers do.

Friends, do what you can to help Times of Refreshing expand this month. Our plan is to contract to purchase property June 29. We believe GOD. And we thank you in advance for whatever gift GOD impresses you to give this month. We never again want to have to turn away needy persons. Ten were turned away in May alone. The demand is here. We simply want to meet it, by GOD’s grace. And with your help, we can.

Depression, Pt 2 / Stony Ground Hearers

Wellness: For Health’s Sake Evening broadcasts feature the health segment first and end with a worship thought. Tonight, Pastor Flemons continued with depression, stating that eating healthy is key to overcoming depression. Although the main cause of depression is low seratonin, there may be other contributing factors, like hereditary tendencies. Essential foods to combat depression include spirulina, spinach, turnips, and soybeans. Avoid high acid foods, like meat.

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Pastor Flemons focused his talk on stony ground hearers, who receive the word joyfully, but the seed never catches root for the stones that are buried beneath the surface. It is what you do in the closet, when no one is watching, that prevents thorough heart work. Storms come in the form of tribulation from the world and persecution from within the church, and the stony ground hearer is offended and endures only for awhile. Verses to ponder are these: Judges 10:14; John 16:33; Deut 4:27-29; Matt 5:12; and 23:37.

Playback: To listen by phone to former broadcasts, call (712)770-4019 Access Code: 635270. Reference number for this evening’s broadcast: 71.

PLEASE PRAY AND DONATE EXTRA AS GOD LEADS YOU THIS MONTH. Times of Refreshing is expanding to avoid having to turn needy persons away. Won’t you help us? Thank you.

Worship: Peace of Mind, Pt 1 / Wellness: Depression, Pt 1

Worship: For Heaven’s Sake  Pastor Flemons focused on having peace, even in the midst of a storm. He set the pace with Psalm 119:165, “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” Explaining that peace is ordained of God, Pastor Flemons shared Bible promises: Isaiah 26:3, 12; 54:10; 62:10-12; Psalm 46:1-3. He then warned against being a wayside hearer (Matthew 13:19), who does not really surrender the heart to GOD. As such he cannot gain understanding or the knowledge that holy people receive from GOD. (See Proverbs 9:10.)

Wellness: For Health’s Sake  Pastor Flemons defined depression, stress and distress. Stress is not the problem; distress is. Explaining how life choices can cause depression, Pastor Flemons cautioned against watching TV, especially high drama and horror shows and watching a lot of TV in childhood and adolescence. Rapid screen changes stimulate the brain, causing depression when TV watching ends. Relying on GOD is key: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; … It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8).
